Ever since a guy knocked on my door and tried to sell me solar panels, I’ve been looking into solar energy. Thank God, I didn’t act because I would’ve been taken advantage of.
In order to get another quote, I put my information into a solar website. I got so many calls. Pricing was all over the place. It was like buying carpet. No two quotes were the same. There were panels, inverters, production levels, and different loan types. I was so overwhelmed that I had to put together a spreadsheet to get an “apples-to-apples” comparison. As I learned what goes into a fair price, I then interviewed installers because I wanted to know who was going to do the actual work? Who would warranty the parts and labor, and would the company be around in 5, 10, 25 years?
As my quest to find a reputable solar panel installer continued, it dawned on me to become a solar energy consultant to buy my own system and to show other Loudoun County residents how to make sense of all this information and make a good decision.
Our local utility, Dominion Energy, will continue to raise our rates to support the electrical demand of all these data centers that are popping up. AI will need to be fed and will continue to stress a grid that was not built for it.
To top it off, a bill was signed on July 4th, 2025 that revokes the 30% solar tax credit for system expenditures that are not incurred by December 31, 2025.
If you’d like to see if solar makes sense for you, feel free to call or text.
Thanks,
